We were asked some weird questions in an exam:
For example,
'He hid the candy ..... the children'...
Fill in the blanks
I put in 'for' there, which i later learnt should have been 'from'...
You scoundrels!
Who is the candy for?!
for the grandparents? :P
:) Yes, sometimes grandparents can have a sweeter tooth than the grandchildren! Perhaps, if the context had been "He hid the TV remote control ____ the children" or "He hid the cigarettes ___ the children." the choice of FROM would have been clear. :)
ReplyDeleteexactly! :) very glad you agree with this seeing there is something wrong with that context
