Staying in a flat or house rather than a dormitory should be much more favourable to students. First of all, it is private. They would not have to share it with others as in a dorm. That is, they could be on their own there. No one would make a noise. There would be no distractions such as phones ringing, an alarm clock going off, or doors opening and closing untimely. So they could relax, sleep, and study in silence and peace. More important, while they would have to
obey some certain rules that would restrict their freedom in a dorm, they could go out and come back any time, invite guests, and behave freely as they wished if they lived in their homes. In addition, they would have much more space in a house allowing them to move around comfortably, offering the chance to enjoy a restful atmosphere. They would also have their own kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, eliminating the need to worry about good nutrition and hygiene.
Although living in a flat or house might be costlier as well as bringing them extra responsibilities such as doing the cleaning , taking care of the place, keeping their neighbours sweet, etc. , the advantages like these would definitely far outweigh any imaginable disadvantages, i believe.
Above all, freedom and peace of mind are priceless, and those are worth anything.
I so agree with you....I was staying in a dorm my first year (and the first time in my life) and it was hard...My roommates were great, but I couldn't even read a book because of different schedules we had with them... The whole dorm system is going south...
